Before any fertility treatment can take place, patients are required by law to give their informed written consent if they wish to use or store their sperm, eggs or embryos (eg for IVF, ICSI treatment).
Fertility Consent is a secure online platform, which provides patients with consistent and engaging information about their individual treatment, which they can review in the comfort and safety of their own home before electronically completing and signing their clinic consent forms and, where required, regulatory consent forms.
We have recently worked with our fertility consent provider to make our guidance and support information more inclusive. The guidance video now includes BSL (British Sign Language) translation to better assist our patients in the deaf community and those who have hearing loss.
There are estimated to be 150,000 deaf adults and children in the UK who use British Sign Language (BSL) and for 70,000 of them, British Sign Language (BSL) is their preferred means of communication. We are really proud to be able to offer this crucial information in a format that meets the needs of our patients.
