Women should avoid becoming pregnant whilst travelling in an area with high or moderate risk of Zika Virus transmission. On returning to the UK, women should avoid conceiving naturally, donating gametes or proceeding with fertility treatment for a further eight weeks if only the woman has travelled, for six months if travelled with their male partner or just the male travelled.
Anyone who has a known Zika virus infection should not try to conceive naturally, donate gametes or proceed with fertility treatment for six months (the use of condoms is advised during this time).
